YoPrez Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23rd October 2026
This policy explains what information YoPrez collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it plain.
Who we are
YoPrez is run by Bullit Technologies, 14 Choumert Grove, London UK. We are the "controller" of your personal information under UK data protection law.
- Contact: hello@yoprez.com
- ICO registration number: ZC215914
What YoPrez does
YoPrez helps you find gift ideas. You tell us about someone you want to buy a present for, and we suggest ideas. Some ideas link to shops, and we may earn a commission if you buy.
What we collect
About the people you shop for. When you use the journey, you give us details about the recipient: their first name (or whatever name you type), your relationship to them, how close you are or how long you have been together, the occasion and date, their age, your budget, and their likes and dislikes. You choose what to enter. Please use a first name or nickname, and do not enter sensitive information (such as health, religion, politics or sexual orientation). Free-text likes and dislikes are shared exactly as you type them.
About you, if you create an account. Your email address, so we can send you a sign-in link, and a record of your account. We do not ask for a password.
Your saved ideas and activity. The ideas we showed you, and whether you saved, passed on, marked as already owned, or marked as bought each one. If you are signed in, we may also record when you click a product link, so we can see what is useful.
Technical information. Our hosting provider and security tools process your IP address and basic device and browser information when you use the app. We can use your IP address briefly to limit abuse for rate limiting.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not currently use analytics.
Where your information is stored
Without an account (guest). Your journey is stored on your own device, in your browser's local storage. It stays there until you clear it. If you clear your browser data or switch device, it is lost.
With an account. When you sign in, your saved people, occasions and ideas are copied to your account, which is stored in our database. After that, the account is the main copy, and your device keeps a local copy for speed.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide YoPrez (generate ideas, save your people, send sign-in links). Legal basis: it is needed to provide the service you asked for.
- To keep the service secure and working (prevent abuse, fix problems, understand which features are used). Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a safe, reliable service.
- To meet legal obligations. For example, keeping records required by tax law.
- Anything that needs your consent (for example, optional analytics, if we add it). We will ask first, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
We do not sell your personal information.
AI-generated ideas
To generate ideas, we send the details you entered for that person (including the name, relationship, occasion, date, age, budget, region and likes and dislikes) to OpenAI, which processes them to produce suggestions. OpenAI may keep inputs and outputs for up to 30 days to provide the service and detect abuse, after which they are deleted unless the law requires them to be kept longer. OpenAI says that data sent through its API is not used to train its models unless the customer chooses to opt in, and we have not opted in. Ideas are generated by AI, so they can be wrong or unsuitable. Please use your own judgement, and check prices and availability with the shop.
Affiliate links
Some product links on YoPrez are affiliate links. If you buy after clicking one, we may earn a commission from the shop, at no extra cost to you. This never changes the price you pay.
When you click through, you leave YoPrez and the shop's own privacy policy and cookies apply. Shops and affiliate networks (such as Awin, Amazon, eBay Partner Network) may set cookies to track the sale. We do not send them the details you entered in YoPrez.
Who we share information with
We use trusted providers to run YoPrez. They process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:
- Supabase: database and sign-in (our project is hosted in Ireland).
- OpenAI: generating gift ideas.
- Vercel hosts the app, Carrd hosts the marketing page, and Cloudflare provides the domain and email forwarding.
- Resend: sending sign-in links.
- Upstash: rate limiting.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of our providers, including OpenAI, are based in or process data in the United States or elsewhere. Where we send personal information outside the UK, we rely on safeguards recognised by UK law, such as approved standard contract terms or an adequacy arrangement.
Cookies and local storage
YoPrez uses only what it needs to work: local storage to remember your journey and saved people on your device, and sign-in tokens to keep you signed in. These are strictly necessary, so we do not need to ask for consent. We will ask first if we ever add analytics or advertising cookies.
How long we keep information
- On your device: until you clear it or delete the data in the app.
- In your account: until you delete it, or until the account has been inactive for 24 months and we remove it.
- Backups: deleted data may remain in secure backups for up to 7 days before being removed.
- Records we must keep by law: for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to:
- see the information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- have your information erased
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive a copy in a portable format
- withdraw consent where we rely on it
In the app, go to Settings, then Account to export your data (a JSON file) or delete your account and data. For anything else, email us at hello@yoprez.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
How to delete your account and data
In the app: open Settings, then Account, then Delete my account and data. This removes your account, your saved people, occasions and ideas from our database. Data stored only on your device can be removed by clearing the site's data in your browser or deleting the app.
If you no longer have the app: email hello@yoprez.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my account". We will delete your account and data within 30 days and confirm by email. We may keep limited information where the law requires, and deleted data may remain in backups for the period above.
Children
YoPrez is for adults. You must be 18 or over to create an account. Recipients of gifts may be children, and the age you enter for a child is used only to suggest suitable ideas. For under-18s, we filter out age-restricted items such as alcohol, vaping, tobacco and gambling. Please do not enter more than a first name and age for a child.
Security
We use sensible measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls that mean each account can only see its own data. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as YoPrez changes. We will change the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email if the changes are significant.
